Last week Landscaping Victoria held their prestigious industry awards – this year announcing and celebrating winners from both 2020 and 2021. We are delighted to report back that our Landscape Apprentice, Connor Davidson, took out the 2020 award for Apprentice of the Year, and our Maintenance Apprentice, Rachel Kellar, took home the same award for 2021!
Apprentice of the Year 2020 – Connor Davidson
We first met Connor in his late teens when he began his landscape construction apprenticeship with Ian Barker Gardens. Over the past four years, we have watched Connor develop into a passionate landscaper with an eagerness to learn and a thirst to continue educating himself. In the past few months alone, Connor has shown immense growth, and we know he will be an incredible asset to the industry.
Apprentice of the Year 2021 – Rachel Kellar
Rachel joined the team in 2019 after leaving behind an extremely successful career in the hospitality industry, working as a Sous chef in some of Melbourne’s best restaurants. Since starting her apprenticeship, she has quickly become a very much loved and well-respected member of our team and is a favourite with many of our clients! She has a very calm and logical thought process when dealing with challenging issues that arise in the garden and displays an impeccable approach for someone with only three years in the industry.
We couldn’t think of two more deserving apprentices to win these awards – congratulations Connor and Rachel!
