Our comprehensive in-house service enables us to handle every aspect of creating your dream garden, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience from start to finish. With a variety of services available, including landscape design, construction and garden maintenance, you may have questions. To help, we’ve answered our most frequently asked questions to provide you with everything you need to know.

Design
What do you design?
We produce comprehensive designs that include all elements within your garden concept. This could include pools, pavilions, entertainment areas, pergolas, retaining walls, planting, lawns and fencing. We can recommend all materials and colour palettes, including pool tiles. We specialise in single-dwelling residential gardens; however, our design portfolio includes a range of residential, rural and commercial projects.
How do I get a design?
Our design process involves three stages: initial consultation, development of your concept, and finalisation of the design. Our expert design team will provide high-level advice on layout, materials, plants, and your budget throughout the process.
What is the cost?
The fee for on-site consultations is $550 incl. GST for properties within an hour of Melbourne CBD; online consultations via Zoom or Microsoft Teams cost $350 incl. GST. After your consultation, the team will send a design fee proposal for your consideration. This will outline the costs for producing your garden concept, including sketches and masterplan; this does not include any construction costs.
My property is located outside of Melbourne CBD. Can I still receive a design?
Yes, you can. We have designed numerous gardens all over Australia and gardens overseas, including in the US, UK and Polynesian Islands. Our Director, Ian, regularly travels so may be able to include a visit to your property in his travel plans. Alternatively, there is the possibility of online consultation.
I have a smaller space. Can I still receive a design?
Yes – we have experience in spaces of all sizes – from apartment balconies to large acreages and everything in between. The smallest area we have designed is 1m x 5m.
Construction
What kind of projects do you construct?
We have constructed projects of all shapes and sizes, from small courtyards to large acreages, by many designers. Our project portfolio comprises various design elements, including pools, pergolas, paving, retaining walls, tennis courts, planting, water features and decking.
What areas do you offer construction services?
Our construction team primarily services the surrounding suburbs of Canterbury, Victoria, including Surrey Hills, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Kew, Balwyn, Toorak, South Yarra and Armadale. However, if your project falls outside of this area, we would still be more than happy to discuss potential possibilities.
What will my construction cost?
Every project is different. Your construction quote will consider the individual elements specified in your master plan, including the materials, the labour involved, the size of the property, the slopes of the land and access to the property.
Maintenance
What areas do you service?
Our maintenance team primarily services the surrounding suburbs of Canterbury, Victoria, including Surrey Hills, Glen Iris, Malvern, Malvern East, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Kew, Balwyn, Toorak, South Yarra and Armadale.
What is included in a maintenance visit?
We provide various services during your visit, including fertilising, pest and disease control, weeding, mulching, pruning, removal of green waste and lawn care. Our team can also monitor and set your existing irrigation throughout the seasons.
General
Can you share general planting advice without creating a design?
Unfortunately, not. There is a lot of pre-planning and assessment that goes into planting palettes and suggestions that are incorporated into designs. Without the appropriate considerations, we cannot provide you with accurate advice. However, we share many tips and tricks, plant information, and general garden information on our social media and blog.
When is the best time to have landscaping done?
Now! The sooner you begin the process, the better. Often, people wait until Spring time as that’s the time of the year when others are taking action and inspiration hits, but this frequently causes a lack of availability in a range of supplies and can cause delays. If you are considering revamping your garden, now is the time.
We hope this helps to shed some light and provide clarity on everything you need to know! Embarking on a journey to create your dream garden through collaboration with a landscape design studio offers a myriad of creative and functional possibilities, here’s what to expect.
