Back in 2015, Ian presented on ‘Naturalistic Perennial Planting in Australia’ at the Horticultural Gardening Festival. As part of this presentation, he highlighted his Top 10 list of landscape designers who he believes use this style extraordinarily well. Well known British garden designer, Noel Kingsbury was high up on Ian’s pedestal and for very good reason.

Noel Kingsbury is the great chronicler of contemporary planting design, having been involved in over twenty-five books on the topic of design inspired by nature and ecology.
He contributes regularly to Gardens Illustrated and has written for many other leading publications including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Garden and The New York Times. It goes without saying that few garden designers/writers are as prolific or as influential.

Coupled with his extensive writing, Noel works as a planting design consultant for landscape companies, local government and private garden owners. And of late, he has begun teaching and lecturing in the field.
We think you’ll agree with Ian on this one, Noel is certainly one of the great pioneers of naturalistic perennial planting and will continue to lead the way in future years.
And just in case you needed further proof, here are some more examples of Noel’s work that are too good to keep to ourselves!
