Qualified Landscaper

Ready to take the next step in your landscape construction career? We are seeking a Qualified Landscaper with 1 – 5 years of residential experience to join the Ian Barker Landscapes team.

Ian Barker Gardens is an award-winning landscape design, construction, and garden maintenance company based in Canterbury, Victoria. We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about landscaping and has an eagerness to learn and develop their skills as well as lead and impart knowledge to other employees, especially apprentices 
  • Is a supportive team player who helps to foster a culture of collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for our client’s gardens
  • Has a Certificate III in Landscape Construction (or similar)
  • Has at least three years of experience (preferably qualified) in landscape construction with a focus on residential projects
  • Has a sound knowledge of both hard and soft construction techniques
  • Has experience or licenses with equipment such as excavators and bobcats
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains a high professional standard by taking an organised and efficient approach to tasks and responsibilities and can problem-solve when required

What you can expect your days to look like:

  • Assisting in scheduling and organisation of an on-site team on a day-to-day basis in all areas of landscape construction
  • Planning and scheduling materials and tasks
  • Communication with the construction manager and office support
  • Assisting in mentoring junior staff and apprentices
  • Ensuring on-site safety
  • Ensuring construction quality
