Are you dreaming of a garden that looks stunning, reflects your unique style, and meets your family’s needs? Our personalised landscape design consultation is the perfect first step toward turning your vision into reality. Whether you want a tranquil retreat, a vibrant space for entertaining, or a kid-friendly area for fun and play, our landscape design team is here to help you achieve your garden goals.
What to expect
During our consultation, you will meet with either our Associate Director, Daniel, or our Director, Ian. This can be done on-site at your property or conveniently online. Over 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, we take the time to get to know you, understand your lifestyle, and discuss your specific requirements and ideas for your garden. This intimate and personalised approach ensures that our design aligns with your vision and enhances how you use your outdoor space.
We believe a well-designed garden starts with a strong foundation of great ideas. During the consultation, we will explore the possibilities for your garden, considering everything from layout and planting schemes to unique features like water elements, lighting, and outdoor living areas. Daniel or Ian will sketch some designs for your garden to help you visualise the options for your landscape – this will also allow our team to decipher what you do and don’t like. This creative brainstorming session is the basis for your concept development, setting the stage for a beautifully cohesive garden design.
A question we’re often asked is, which is better – an on-site or online consult?
Our team strongly recommends an on-site consultation if you live in Melbourne, Victoria. Benefits of an on-site consultation include:
- Our designers can observe the on-site conditions, such as soil quality, sunlight patterns, and drainage issues, which are vital for making informed design decisions
- Being physically present in your garden allows our designers to better visualise how different elements look and feel in the space. They can use markers or simple sketches to illustrate potential layouts and features, helping you to envision the final design more clearly. This tactile experience can be incredibly valuable for both you and the designer.
- During an on-site consultation, immediate feedback can be given as you move through different areas of your garden. Our designers can make real-time suggestions and adjustments based on their observations and your input.
If you live in Melbourne but there is no existing property (i.e., you’re building a new home or doing a knock-down rebuild), we still encourage an in-person consultation. We can come on-site to visually understand the landscape and then go to a local café to finish the remainder of the consultation.
If you live interstate or internationally, we recommend an online consultation to begin with. A team member will likely be able to visit your garden in the future (as our designers travel regularly), but this minimises the cost and need for travel at the early stages of the landscape design. Geographic location isn’t an issue for our design team, and we have designed gardens all over the world. One of our current design projects includes a beautiful Chateau in France.
Pricing
Our fee for on-site consultations is $550, including GST, for properties within an hour of Melbourne CBD. For those who prefer an online consultation, the cost is $350, including GST. We charge a fee for our consultations because it provides you with uninterrupted time to ask our designers absolutely anything you want to know or for any advice regarding your garden.
Creating your quote
After your consultation, we will provide you with a detailed design quote outlining the costs for producing your garden concept, including sketches and a master plan. This proposal will give you a clear understanding of the next steps, excluding construction costs, and allow you to plan your project confidently.
